Tom Sheppard is a 5-time Emmy-winning and WGA-nominated director, writer and producer. While studying at USC Film School, Tom worked for Director Mike Nichols and scripted the live-action feature The New Adventures of Pinocchio (starring Martin Landau) for New Line Pictures.
Tom was a writer on Steven Spielberg’s Pinky and the Brain, a writer/producer on Bryan Cranston's adult stop-motion comedy, Supermansion, and has served as a writer and/or showrunner on series, videos and theatrical projects for Cartoon Network, Warner Bros Animation and Nickelodeon. Tom co-created, ran and directed the live-action/animated hybrid series, The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange for Cartoon Network, the first ever successful YouTube to television crossover, which featured talent including Olivia Wilde, Dave Grohl, Kylie Minogue, Danny Trejo, Alice Cooper, Eddie Izzard, Weird Al and David Cross. Between TV projects, Tom wrote and directed the indie romantic screwball comedy, WOULD I LIE TO YOU? The film was shot on 35mm over 12 days, and completed for under 150k.
After writing on George Lucas’ infamous Star Wars: Detours project with Seth Green, Tom took over directing duties from Chris McKay for Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken. Over four seasons, Tom directed more than 80 episodes of the show, along with numerous specials and commercials, earning Emmy nominations each season (and winning two for the show). He won the Juried TV Directing Award at the Annecy Film Festival for the Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special.
Recent directing assignments include the Emmy-winning Muppets Mayhem for Disney, along with commercial spots for Warner Brothers, Playstation, Progressive Insurance, Denny's and Burger King. Tom has written features for, among others, Fox Animation, Sony & Ubisoft. He is currently developing multiple feature and television projects.
